The 2011-2012 county basketball schedule was recently released. The Vikings will open up the season with a pair of 2A/3A opponents. The Vikings tip-off the campaign on Tuesday December 6th at 7 pm at Poolesville, and then host the Wheaton Knights Friday December 9th. Quince Orchard and Blake, who have moved up to 4A, are back on the Vikings schedule. Springbrook visits Whitman for the first time since 2007, and Whitman will play Clarksburg for the first time in school history on Tuesday February 21.  Whitman must replace 6 seniors and 4 starters from a team that finished 11-13 and advanced to the 4A West Region Quarterfinals.
